The Music on Main Summer Concert Series is back! Make Thursdays your best days. A date night, family night out, or just a weekend prelude — no matter what you call it, mark your calendar for great live music concerts in Downtown Newton all summer long.
Tonight’s performers: Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot — Carolina beach music at its finest.
Food:
Food trucks and food vendors will be ready to serve at 5:00 pm, the band will begin at 6:00 pm and continue until 8:30 pm
Adult Beverages:
No outside alcohol or coolers will be permitted during the event, but beer will be available to purchase on N Main Ave. beginning at 5 p.m. Please note, wristbands will be utilized for age identification and are required for alcohol purchases.
The Newton Social District will be observed for the purchases of beer and wine at several Downtown Newton beverage providers.
What to Bring:
• A lawn chair and/or blanket — Stay comfortable and enjoy the show!
• Bug Spray — Keep the bugs away!
• Sunglasses — the sun gets bright as it sets. Be prepared!
Weather:
Please note: Due to the popularity of the Music on Main Summer Concert Series in Downtown Newton, organizers make every effort to proceed with each concert as scheduled. However, when severe weather threatens, the safety of visitors, sponsors, and performers is of utmost concern. As a result, decisions on whether to continue or cancel a concert are based entirely on the potential risks posed by inclement weather. Should there be a weather threat, the decision to proceed will be made no later than 4:00 pm. Updates will be posted on Facebook, the City website, and Downtown Newton Development Association website on the Downtown Happenings Page.
